MPS Esports Achieving Big Things in Oklahoma

MPS will have many teams competing this weekend for state Esports titles - best of luck to our students traveling to Clinton! ๐Ÿคฉ๐ŸŽฎ

Check out a few of their accomplishments this year:

 

Brink JH

Spring

State Playoffs Qualifiers

Rocket League: all three teams made the playoffs. Brink Rocket League Red team is playing in the state championship match in Clinton on May 3rd

Fortnite Box Fights: Brink Box Fights Black team qualified and WON the state championship! They will be recognized as champs in Clinton on May 3rd.

Fortnite Zone Wars: Brink Zone Wars Red team qualified for playoffs and will play in the state championship match in Clinton on May 3rd

Super Smash Bros.: 3 of our solo players qualified for state playoffs

Mario Kart: Brink Mario Kart Red and Brink Mario Kart Black have qualified for the state playoffs. They will play in Clinton on May 3rd.

Brink won THREE state championships!

The following teams also qualified for state playoffs this season:

Mario Kart Duos - Orion Neeley (8th grade) /Micah McConnell (8th grade) and Luke Regouby (7th grade) /Noah Posey (8th grade)

Super Smash Bros Solos - Alistair Hayes (7th grade), Devin Hageman (8th grade), Luke Regouby (7th grade)

Rocket League Duos - Clive Cottle (8th grade)/Daniel Rivera (7th grade) and Waylon White (8th grade)/Titus Trowbridge (7th grade)

Fall

Large schools State Runner-up 3v3 Rocket League (8th Grade - Malachi Gray, Brendon Kniskern, Brandon Lacey)

 

Spring

Large schools State Runner-up 2v2 Fortnite Box Fights (8th Grade – Malachi Gray, 7th Grade – Ryot Mendoza)

Large schools State Playoffs 2v2 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (May 3rd)

5th seed – (8th Grade – Brendon Kniskern, Solee Carolina)

6th seed – (7th Grade – Spencer Mckelvy, Zach Powell)

 

**UPDATE May 16**

Central Junior High School had 3 teams go to State this season.  Their Fortnite Box Wars team (Malachi Gray - 8thgrade and Ryot Mendoza – 7th grade) placed 2nd and received a trophy and medals.

They also had 2 Mario Kart 8 teams compete at the state event, both reaching the quarterfinals and placing 7th and 8th out of 48 teams.

 


Southmoore HS

Spring

  • Valorant Team is currently one of the Top 8 teams in the nation and will be competing at Nationals at the end of May

 

**UPDATE May 16** 

Two SHS seniors, Nolan Swindler and Brecken Blue, have received scholarships through Esports to attend the University of Oklahoma.

Valorant Team competed against several schools in the Southwest US.  They qualified for the National Tournament in Kansas City the weekend of May 30.  Their names are listed below:

Moore High

This year MHS had Nikolai Chaney (9) win state for Street Fighter 6.

The Lions went to state for Apex Legends and placed 6th and 11th - the Apex Students are Clinton Whited (12), Jared Gertsch (10), Brady Bostwick (11), Erica Fulks (12), Byron Green (12) and Jackson Weaver (12).

Copper Tait (9) and Rylan Humphrey (9) won JV Fortnite Boxfights state.

Tony Vu (12), Harrison Humphrey (11), Ophelia Chen (10), Alex Pershall (11) and Lance Truong (11) won 3rdfor Valorant in the Spring Majors for the High School Esports National League.

AJ Keilty (12) and Will Hyden (10) took 2nd place at state for Rocket League.
